We would like to express our thanks for the wonderful parenting seminar that you recently took at Matamata (March 2012). We very much appreciate you coming to New Zealand and hope that you enjoyed your stay here.

Your seminar was interesting, informative and engaging. The responses we have had from our attendees are outstanding. We believe that they will be able to go home with some very positive ideas to contribute towards their family life. We are very grateful for your time and we would very much like to have you visit us again and we look forward to arranging further seminars for your words of wisdom to be heard.

Many thanks.

You have done so much to help us and we can't say 'Thank you' enough.  You have no idea the difference you have made to the parents and children (in our program) and we cannot wait to get you back.  Thanks again for everything from everyone here.  God bless you.

"I was in a violent, unstable relationship that left me feeling powerless, confused, alone and lost.  Life became a struggle of trials and errors.  You can imagine my excitement when I started getting help from Te Kahukura Trust.  They (Forefront Families, working with Te Kahukura Trust)  offered us the (parenting) tools and skills to help us strengthen our weaknesses we had no knowledge of, or parts that could be done differently.  As soon as I applied the changes in myself and actions in my home, it has changed mine and my kids lives in many positive ways.  We are all much closer, our bonds are tighter, and happiness and love can be seen and is felt.  I will be making better choices and that means my children will make better choices as well.  I have been given the tools to succeed."

"Thankyou for having this group.  I really enjoyed coming. My favorite part was listening to (guest parent speaker) because he really expressed himself to our class and he had a lot of courage to stand there and tell us about his past (anger issues).  Thank you for including me in this group and for coming to our school and for everything you taught us."

"Thank you for teaching me ways of controling myself and for teaching me the differences between good and bad sins and how not to be selfish.  The thing I mostly enjoyed was having the one-on- one with Sally and mostly just being part of the Te Kahukura Trust."

"I learned to respect my Mum and Dad.  I like the way we sit at the table now and eat. I want them (Sally and Brian) to keep helping them keep me out of trouble."

"I liked how you guys helped me with controlling anger, so I thank you.  Also for the advice on breaking up fights and to walk away when (others) want to fight."

"I like the way Sally and Brian explain things and I understand what they want me to do.  I like the way they play their games.  We have to work together as a team.  What they talk about has helped me with my anger. We used to sit in our rooms to eat but now we sit at the table and we are all together.  We talk now.  We never did chores before but now we do and we like it.  It makes my Mum happy too."

"I just soaked up all the information and wished the class could have been longer.  I have already implemented some of the new plans at home.  You have a very common sense approach."

"I enjoyed the class and think that you both did a wonderful job.  I particularly enjoyed the sessions on 'Creating family values', 'Creating a family shield', and 'Respect and Responsibility.'  I am so proud that we have people like you out there teaching and sharing all this information that can be so much help to parents.  "

"I found the seminar insightful, with a lot of wisdom and practical guidance.  It gave me perspective and conviction in things I tend to hesitate to enforce, and I learned how to motivate unmotivated kids.  Awesome!"

I loved the part about positively reinforcing our children, spending time to make them feel important, instilling values so that they learn to make a positive contribution to society.

“Brian and Sally Burgess led a conference at the church where I serve as Children’s Minister.  They are gifted communicators that provided practical solutions to parenting problems.  They personalized the conference to meet the specific needs of our parents.  The material was relevant and well delivered.  Without exception every parent that attended was delighted and requested that Forefront Families hold future conferences at our church.

"I am thankful that God placed this couple in my life so that I can help equip the parents that I serve”

After talking with Brian and Sally and trying some of their suggestions, our household changed with in a matter of days. Bedtime is no longer a dreaded event. Thank you very much.”
