Listening is a two-way thing. This is not rocket science. Kids learn to listen when parents listen to them, and when they see parents listening to one another. Kids listen when something interesting or rewarding is coming from it. Why do kids tune out? They stop listening when they are being nagged at, and when parents make idle threats without any follow-through action.
This topic shows parents how to give children effective listening skills. |
