Taking responsibility means accepting the consequences for whatever action a person has taken. The most common way for kids to learn to take responsibility for their own actions is by observing parents. As long as the blame can be laid elsewhere, kids will never learn. We need to teach our kids to make wise choices and thereby be proud of the outcomes. This topic looks at how we can learn to take responsibility for our actions as parents, and then how we walk our kids through the consequences, and help them make better choices next time.
