If you have a child with ADD, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or you suspect there may be some other physical, social or intellectual problem there is help available. Whether you work with these children, or you have one or more in your family, the disorders have been well researched and you may be looking for some new findings and methods of dealing with the problem. We all want to see these children well educated and fitting into the family and into society. It seems like a continuous battle to motivate them, and you get tired of going to the school for parent conferences because they are misbehaving or not making the expected academic progress. You find that some of the teachers are not very knowledgeable about the disorder and do not seem willing to make modifications that the IEP shows in the behavior plan or educational goals section. What can you do? How can you keep up with the research? Where can it be found? How, as a professional or parent, can you better manage these children in your home, classroom, home school setting, or Sunday school class? This topic is designed to provide knowledge, research sites, and methods of dealing with children having these disorders. There is also interactive discussion time.
